Marquette Hosts Green Bay Friday Night

The Marquette University men’s tennis team (4-3) will host Green Bay on Friday, Feb. 17. First serve is scheduled for 6 p.m. Central time.

The Golden Eagles went 0-2 on the road last weekend against Utah State and Arizona.

In the 4-0 loss to Utah State, sophomore Greg Anderson and freshman Luke Smrek claimed the lone victory for MU, earning a 6-4 victory at No. 3 doubles.

Against Arizona, the tandem of junior Alvaro Verdu and senior Nick Dykema notched a 6-2 victory in the No. 1 position. The Golden Eagles fell to the Wildcats 4-1.

Marquette looks to continue its undefeated home record (4-0) against the Phoenix, who are 2-5 on the season. Most recently, Green Bay rolled past Toledo, 4-3, on Feb. 5.

Following the match, Marquette will take on another in-state foe in Wisconsin on Friday, March 3 in non-conference action.
