Dusan Medan Earns First Career ITA National Ranking
Feb. 19, 2010
Milwaukee - Senior Dusan Medan of the Marquette University men's tennis team is currently ranked 88th in the nation, according to the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association rankings (released Feb. 18).
The Nis, Serbia, native owns an overall record of 17-5 in 2009-10, including a perfect 6-0 mark at the No. 1 position in dual matches. The Golden Eagles are 7-0 on the year and Medan's season thus far has been highlighted by a historic run at the ITA All-American last October.
"Dusan has worked extremely hard over the last three years to improve his game and it has been rewarding to see him have excellent results this year," head coach Steve Rodecap said. "The best thing about Dusan is that not only has he gotten better, he makes the guys around him better. He is more concerned about the team's results and would give all his individual results away for his team to have a great year."
Medan is the highest ranked men's tennis player in at least a decade. Freshman Jacob Straus completed a strong Fall season and as a result earned the 124th position in the first ranking in 2009-10, but dropped out in the latest release.
