Marquette Opens Spring Trip With Pair of Matches

The Marquette University men’s tennis team (8-5) continues its six-match road swing this weekend when the squad opens its spring trip with a pair of matches in Dallas.

The Golden Eagles, who have won four-straight matches, will take on No. 44 SMU at 12 p.m. on Sunday, March 20 before facing UT-Arlington at 2 p.m. on Monday, March 21.

Marquette Drops 6-1 Decision At SMU Friday Afternoon
The Marquette University men's tennis team (9-11) wrapped up a two-match road swing in Texas Friday afternoon with a 6-1 non-conference setback at SMU.

SMU will mark Marquette’s fourth nationally ranked opponent this season. MU has also taken on No. 53 Indiana, No. 64 Purdue and No. 36 Wisconsin in 2015-16.

The team’s recent win streak has featured improved results in doubles action, where the squad has been able to claim the opening point in each of the last four outings. The singles lineup has been equally strong, posting an overall record of 20-of-24 since the March 2 win over NIU.
