The Marquette University men's tennis team (7-9) continues its 2011-12 dual match campaign this weekend (March 23-24) at the Boise State Spring Classic.

The Golden Eagles are making their third appearance in the eight-team event, which also includes Ball State, No. 38 Boise State, Idaho, Nevada, No. 65 Southern Mississippi, UAB and Utah.

Marquette will open tourney action Friday afternoon against No. 65 Southern Miss and based on that result will face either Ball State or host Boise State. MU will play a total of three matches on the weekend in the traditional dual-match format.

"Boise State is always a great host and we look forward to competing in another tough field," head coach Steve Rodecap said. "I have seen this team grow a lot over the last few weeks and we have had several guys start to have an impact on a consistent basis.

"We have played an extremely tough schedule which helps when you play in events where we will play three matches in two days," Rodecap added.

The Golden Eagles snapped a four-match losing streak in the team's last action, downing Pacific 4-2 in tournament action at San Diego. Three of those four setbacks were by the slimmest of margins (4-3) and two came against nationally ranked opponents. USM will be the fifth opponent for Marquette this season ranked in the ITA top-75.

Sophomore Dan Mamalat and freshman Cameron Tehrani both have 17 singles victories this season to lead the team. Tehrani is 8-2 in dual competition this season, including a 4-0 mark at the No. 4 and No. 5 positions.
