The Marquette University men's tennis team (8-11) enters the home stretch of its 2011-12 dual match campaign this weekend when the team travels to league opponent No. 69 USF (5-12) on Sunday afternoon.

The Golden Eagles have just three dual matches left in the regular season and will face the Bulls (April 1), Northern Illinois (April 8) and DePaul (April 14) prior to the BIG EAST Championship in Tampa, Fla. (April 18-22).

"USF is a very good team that has played a very tough schedule and will be a tough test for us on the road," head coach Steve Rodecap said. "They have a home win over Notre Dame, which is currently the highest-ranked team in the league.

USF, which plays UCF and Illinois State prior to Sunday's matchup with MU, has faced eight nationally ranked opponents in 2011-12. The Bulls will mark the Golden Eagles' sixth foe ranked in the top-75 by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association. Marquette has fallen in three of those matches by final scores of 4-3.

MU remains in search of its first true road win of the campaign, only escaping victorious away from the Helfaer Tennis Stadium in a pair of neutral site contests. Sophomore Dan Mamalat tops the roster with an overall singles record of 20-9, including a 12-2 mark in dual competition. Newcomer Cameron Tehrani has been especially impressive since the start of the dual season, where he owns a 10-3 record (19-7 overall).

Marquette's trip to the state of Florida will be the first of two in the month of April.

"The conference tournament will be played at USF, so it will be a good opportunity for us to compete in the same conditions and facility where the championship will take place," Rodecap said.
