Men's Tennis Returns to Helfaer to Host Toledo

MILWAUKEE - The Marquette University men's tennis team returns home after a seven-match road swing to welcome Toledo to the Helfaer Tennis Stadium on Friday, April 1 at 6 p.m.

The Golden Eagles (11-8) put on a strong performance at the Boise State Spring Break Classic on March 25 and March 26, finishing 2-1 at the event. After dropping an opening round match to No. 57 Idaho, MU went on to defeat Ball State, 5-1, and sweep Eastern Washington in straight sets 7-0. Junior Jonathan Schwerin has won his last five singles matches, including three wins at the No. 6 singles spot at the Spring Break Classic.

Toledo (18-8) enters Friday's match having won its last seven matches. Senior Aleksander Elezovic, a 2010 First-Team All-MAC member, has been the go-to performer for the Rockets at the No. 1 singles spot posting a 14-4 mark in dual matches this spring. Toledo will take on Green Bay on Friday at 11 a.m. at the Helfaer Tennis Stadium before facing Marquette.

The Golden Eagles are perfect at the Helfaer Tennis Stadium, 6-0, and will conclude the regular season with a four-match homestand.
