The Marquette University men's tennis team returns to action on Saturday, April 12 against DePaul in Chicago. Opening serve is slated to start at 3 p.m. CT.

The Blue Demons will be MU's second BIG EAST opponent of the season. The squad is currently 1-0 in conference play after defeating Xavier 4-3 on March 29 at home. Freshman Nick Dykema etched a 6-1, 6-1 win at the No. 4 singles to get MU ahead in singles action. Junior Cameron Tehrani, junior Vukasin Teofanovic and senior Dan Mamalatalso secured straight-set decisions for the win.

"DePaul has been playing really well of late and it will be a good road test for us as its home results are extremely good," head coach Steve Rodecapsaid. "They have one of the best players in the league at the top and he has had great spring season. They always compete extremely well and play with a high level of energy and we will need to be able to match it if we want to have a successful trip."

Last year, MU faced DePaul at home and won 5-2. Teofanovic contributed with wins in the No. 2 singles and the top doubles spot with Mamalat. Mamalat also notched a 7-6, 6-4 victory at the No. 1 singles spot against Filip Dzanko, who is currently the Blue Demons top singles player on a two-match winning streak.

DePaul (8-12) returns to home action after playing five matches away. The squad came up short against the College of Charleston in its latest competition. Dzanko, Sten Leusink and David Vieyra notched wins in the top three singles spots for DePaul. Dzanko and Vieyra also won in the No. 1 doubles spot.

Following DePaul, Marquette will face Creighton and Butler to finish out the season and conference play before heading into the BIG EAST Championship. The Golden Eagles will face the Bluejays on April 14 at 6 p.m. CT and the Bulldogs on April 20 at noon CT at Helfaer Tennis Stadium.
