Golden Eagles Wrap Up Regular Season At Conference Rival DePaul

Milwaukee - With a five match win streak on the line, the Marquette men's tennis team travels to Chicago, Ill. on Saturday, April 17 to face DePaul at 2 p.m.
The match comes just days before the BIG EAST Championships in South Bend, Ind. held April 21-25.
The Golden Eagles (16-4) will finish an 11-match road swing in Chicago. Most recently, MU defeated Tulane, 6-1, as senior Dusan Medan and sophomore Jacob Straus each recorded their 25th overall singles win. Medan, a Nis, Serbia, native, remains in the ITA singles rankings at No. 92.
"DePaul is a very talented team that we know we must play well in order to beat," head coach Steve Rodecap said. "It will be a very tough road test for us and our guys are looking forward to it."
Medan and Straus also lead the team in doubles action, boasting a 15-7 overall record together, 13-4 in spring play. Marquette is 3-2 in away matches this season, and 4-2 on neutral courts.
DePaul (7-16) enters its Senior Day match winning one of its last eight, and two of the last 12. The Blue Demons opened the season strong, with three consecutive wins over UIC, University of Chicago and Northern Illinois before losing the next five. The squad has faced 11 ranked NCAA Division I opponents this season, and most recently fell to No. 64 William and Mary, 4-3, on April 11. DePaul finished the 2008-09 season in a program-best second place at the BIG EAST Championships after knocking off Marquette.
