2015-16 SCHEDULE

The Marquette University men's tennis team has released its schedule for the upcoming 2015-16 campaign, 13th-year head coach Steve Rodecap announced Wednesday morning.

"We always try to compile a schedule that is going to challenge the team based on the composition of our roster and I think that is the case again this season," Rodecap said. "The fall portion is obviously highlighted by the Milwaukee Tennis Classic and we feel that the dual matches will have us well prepared for the conference tournament."

The fall portion of the schedule will begin with the 40th Annual Milwaukee Tennis Classic at The Town Club in Fox Point, Wis. The eight-team event features four men's (Marquette, Wisconsin, Ball State and Valparaiso) and four women's programs and is one of the most unique events in the country, as it is contested on the facility's clay courts.

The men's squad will continue its fall stretch at the Purdue Fall Invitational, a year removed from a great showing in the event. Last year, then-sophomore Kristiyan Trukov garnered the consolation title of the Flight D draw. Trukov and Andre Romanello saw their bid for the Flight B doubles championship fall just short in the title match.

Marquette will remain on the road for the remainder of the fall, with stops at the ITA All-American and ITA Midwest Regional tournaments. They will conclude their fall schedule at the Louisville Invite from Oct. 30 -- Nov. 1.

The spring portion of the schedule is highlighted by 20 dual matches, including a trip back to West Lafayette to take on Purdue, and a trip to California to take on No. 22 San Diego. Of those 20, nine will be contested at Marquette's Helfaer Tennis Stadium, including the home opener on January 22 against IUPUI. The regular season will conclude with a four-match homestand against conference foes Creighton, Xavier, Butler and DePaul in April.

MU will wrap up its season at the BIG EAST Tournament from Apr. 29 -- May 1. The Golden Eagles will look to improve on their success from last year's tournament, which saw them reach the title match before falling to St. John's.
