The Marquette University men's tennis team will look to build off its strong play at last week's Milwaukee Tennis Classic when it sends six competitors to the 2014 Purdue Fall Invitational in West Lafayette, Ind., this weekend.

The three-day tournament will begin Friday, Sept. 19 and conclude with championship matches Sunday, Sept. 21. The event will feature flights in both singles and doubles action.

Freshman Scott Christian and Andre Romanello will join sophomores Kristiyan Trukov and Mackenzie Stearns at the Invitational. Junior Gleb Skylr and senior Cameron Tehrani will round out the field for the Golden Eagles.

"Purdue's fall tournament will provide another great opportunity for our guys to get the chance to compete against a quality field," head coach Steve Rodecap said. "The depth of our team is strong, and this event is important for our guys to establish themselves and continue to make improvements in their games."

Joining MU and host Purdue will be ITA No. 13 ranked Notre Dame, as well as No. 21 Memphis. The remaining competing schools include: Iowa, Louisville, Western Michigan, Eastern Kentucky, DePaul, UW-Green Bay, Valparaiso, Case Western, Toledo, IUPUI, Chicago, Tennessee Tech, Cleveland State, Chicago State and Vincennes.

The six Golden Eagles combined for an 8-3 singles record at the first tournament of the season and hope to continue the success starting Friday morning.
