The Marquette University men’s tennis team will be represented by a trio of competitors this weekend at the 2013 Purdue Fall Invitational in West Lafayette, Ind.

Sophomore Gleb Sklyr and freshmen Nick Dykema and Kristiyan Trukov will open play on Friday morning with competition in both singles and doubles. Sklyr earned a spot in the Flight A singles draw, Dykema will play in Flight D and Trukov in Flight E. The MU tandem of Sklyr/Dykema will look to advance in the Flight A doubles bracket.

”One of the biggest benefits of the fall season is to get in as many matches as possible and that is extremely important for our younger guys,” head coach Steve Rodecap said. “We had some good performances last weekend and I look forward to continuing those efforts at Purdue.

Along with MU and host Purdue, the remaining competing schools are: Western Michigan, Xavier, Case Western, Wright State, Iowa, Green Bay, Bradley, IPFW, DePaul, Cleveland State, Valparaiso, IUPUI, Toledo, Saint Louis, Chicago State, Vincennes, Butler and Louisville. Matches will be played at the Schwartz Tennis Center and Cumberland Park.

Trukov opened his Golden Eagle career with three singles victories at the Milwaukee Tennis Classic (Sept. 13-15) and Dykema picked up a pair of wins as well.
