The Marquette University men’s tennis team will continue the fall portion of its 2016-17 campaign at the Purdue Fall Invitational (Sept. 23-25) this weekend in West Lafayette, Ind.

Freshmen Brandon Shanklin, Luke Smrek and Alexander Warstler and junior Andre Romanello will compete in singles and doubles action at the Schwartz Tennis Center, which features 12 outdoor and six indoor courts. There will be six singles flights and a trio of doubles draws.

The field includes Marquette, Purdue, Wright State, Southern Illinois, DePaul, Ball State, Toledo, Olivet Nazarene, IUPUI, Indiana, Butler, Southern Indiana, Case Western and Cardinal Stritch.

“This is always a great fall event and a way for our younger guys to gain some match experience,” head coach Steve Rodecap said. “I am looking forward to a successful weekend in both singles and doubles play.”

Marquette opened the campaign last weekend at the Milwaukee Tennis Classic at The Town Club in Fox Point, Wis.
