Marquette Sends Six to Notre Dame
Oct. 5, 2017
Six members of the Marquette men’s tennis team will travel to South Bend, Ind. this weekend for the Bobby Bayliss Invitational (Oct. 6-8) hosted by Notre Dame.
The tournament format features a portion of singles action split into three flights and will begin at approximately 8 a.m. Central time each day. Players will be matched up as the weekend progresses based on their record in each flight.
“The guys have been working hard since school starts and are maximizing their opportunities in the fall,” head coach Steve Rodecap said. “This might be one of the deepest teams we have had here during my tenure and that has translated into some great competition in practice.”
Andre Romanello, Scott Christian, Julian Robinson, Eddie Griesedieck, Brandon Shanklin, and Luis Heredia Gomez will be representing the Golden Eagles this weekend in singles and doubles play. Last weekend, the Golden Eagles were represented by five players in Tulsa, Okla. for the ITA Men’s All-American Championships. Sophomore Brett Meyers wrapped up play with a loss in the second round of the qualifying draw.
Marquette continues its fall portion of the 2017-18 campaign at the Louisville Fall Invite on Oct. 13-15.
