Golden Eagles Continue Fall Campaign At Purdue Invitational

The Marquette University men's tennis team will travel to West Lafayette, Ind.. to compete in the Purdue Invitational, the squad's fourth tournament of the fall season.
Hosted by the Boilermakers, the two-day event begins on Saturday, Oct. 10 and runs through Sunday, Oct. 11.
Butler, Iowa and Eastern Illinois join Marquette and host Purdue at the tournament. There will be two singles and doubles flights. Draws will be announced by the Boilermakers Friday morning.
Marquette is led by freshman Jacob Straus and sophomore Drake Kakar, who have five and four singles wins, respectively, in fall play. Five student-athletes on head coach Steve Rodecap's squad boast winning singles records, and seven have tallied at least two singles victories during the fall. The doubles pair of Kakar and freshman Otavio Perim has been unbeatable, recording three wins. The teams of senior Niko Boulieris/freshman Jose Carlos Gutierrez Crowley and senior Mark Rutherford/sophomore Jonathan Schwerin add two doubles victories each.
Senior Dusan Medan, who is currently competing in the D’Novo/ITA All-American Championships, will not make the trip to Purdue.
