The Marquette University men’s tennis team will wrap up the fall portion of its 2014-15 campaign this week with competition at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Midwest Regional in Ann Arbor, Mich.

Competition at the University of Michigan begins on Oct. 16 with singles and doubles competition and concludes on Oct. 20 at the Varsity Tennis Center. Official draws are expected to be announced on Wednesday and the Golden Eagles will feature three players in the main draw, five competitors in the qualifying bracket and four main draw doubles squads.

“The ITA regional is always a great test because our region is typically one of the strongest in the country,” head coach Steve Rodecap said. “We haven’t competed with a full team in the regional for a few years, so it will be a nice opportunity for the five guys in the qualification draw to play with a sense of purpose and advance.

"I feel we have as deep of a team as we have ever had and it’s important for those guys to have a strong showing to build off of heading into the dual match season,” Rodecap added. “The bottom part of our lineup will be critical to our success this year, so I look forward to seeing them compete against a high level this week.”

The Golden Eagles haven’t competed as a team since the final weekend in September when the roster was split between the Ball State Fall Invitational and the ITA All-American.

Sophomore Kristiyan Trukov leads the team with seven singles wins this fall and freshman Andre Romanello is second with five. MU has posted an overall record of 33-26 in singles action and a 16-10 mark in doubles competition.
