Marquette Wraps Up Fall Campaign At UT Invite
Nov. 1, 2012
The Marquette University men's tennis team will wrap up the fall portion of its 2012-13 schedule this weekend at the UT Invitational, hosted by the University of Texas.
"It will be a transition for us to get back outdoors as it is a different style of play than we have experienced the last month," head coach Steve Rodecap said. "This becomes very important for us because we have to do it often in the spring. We look forward to playing in a quality event to finish the fall campaign."
The eight-team field includes MU, Texas, Ball State, Oklahoma, Princeton, St. Edwards, TCU and UT-Arlington.
The UT Invitational will feature nine nationally-ranked singles players - including two ranked newcomers - and four nationally-ranked doubles teams. There are a total of 54 players in two singles brackets of 32 - `A Draw' and `B Draw'. With a consolation round, players are guaranteed the right to play at least two matches.
The doubles field has four nationally-ranked teams, including two in the top 10 - No. 1 Costin Paval/Dane Webb of Oklahoma and No. 8 David Holiner/Chris Camillone. Doubles will be competing in a draw of 32.
