To prepare student-athletes for the challenges of the job market upon completion of their college career, Marquette University and the Athletics Department have established programs to aid student-athletes with career development (i.e. workshops, career fairs, resume building), as well as employment after graduation. The athletic department collaborates with the Career Services Center to offer numerous resources and opportunities to ensure the success of student-athletes outside of their academics and sport.
Magis Team Spirit Cup points will be awarded for attendance of development workshops.
Whether a student is in their first year or last year of college it is always a good idea to research how their career interests and their major are taking shape. Academic Services provides numerous resources for student-athletes that can aid them in both their discovery of a career/major and in their progression towards their professional careers. A year-by-year timeline of important items will help to create student-athletes for life after sport.
Game Plan is a unified student-athlete development platform, brining together all the components for a rich student-athlete experience by connecting athletic departments, student-athletes, and employers to improve outcomes for all. Game Plan allows student-athletes to easily take and manage results for personality, interest and transition assessments including proprietary student-athlete based assessments. It's eLearning Library offers over 40 eLearning modules covering topics like time management, social media, resume building and career preparation. Game Plan also offers a career portal that connects companies and colleges in an effort to help place student-athletes in jobs after graduation.
