Catching Up with WBB's Ashley Santos

Marquette redshirt freshman guard Ashley Santos is making her way back from a season-ending injury in 2012-13 - but is ready to return for the Golden Eagles this season. Find out more about her, her teammates, and her journey back to the court.

2013-2014: Tallied six points during victory over Arkansas-Pine Bluff (11/11)... Notched five points in five minutes in win vs. Vanderbilt (11/17)... Recorded six points and a career-high three assists in win against Tennesee Tech (11/29)... Scored a career-high 12 points in 26 minutes of action during victory at Milwaukee (12/15)... Recorded four points and four rebounds in 79-71 OT victory against Oral Roberts (12/18)... Contributed nine points in 77-54 win over Georgetown (02/01)... Notched seven points and three boards in 62-60 win over Seton Hall (2/5)... Tallied eight points and five rebounds in 74-70 loss to Butler (2/8). Notched eight points and four assists in 22 minutes of play during 75-54 over Xavier (2/15).

Prior to Marquette: Sat out the majority of the 012 season due to season-ending knee injury, but was named second team All-State by the Illinois Coaches Association ...Named a McDonald's All-American nominee as a senior... A four-year starter and letterwinner...Four-time all-area selection by both the Daily Herald and the Kane County Chronicle and was named to the Upstate Eight River Division All-Conference Team following the 2010 and 2011 seasons ... MVP as a senior in the Upstate 8 Conference... Helped Geneva to the class 4A super-sectional qualifier ... Member of two regional and sectional championship teams, including an undefeated season as a sophomore... As a junior, she led her team in rebounding (5.4 rpg) and was second in scoring (15.8 ppg), and reached the 1,000 career point plateau mid-way through the 2011 season ... Earned all-tournament team honors at the Geneva Invite and was the Most Valuable Player at the Benet/Naperville North Holiday Tournament in 2010 ... Listed as the No. 89 overall prospect and 34th at her position by ESPN HoopGurlz ... Member of the U-18 and U-16 Puerto Rico National Team and has played with club teams Georgia Ice and Illinois Lighting Elite Platinum...Represented Puerto Rico and was a top five player at Centro Basket.
