2000-2001L Zawodny was Marquette's most dominating player underneath the basket in 2000-2001. She led the team in rebounding with 8.2 per game and she was second on the team in scoring with 10.6 per game.

Her ability to score near the basket also made her a target for other teams to foul, with a team high 146 free throw attempts. Zawodny scored in double figures 16 times last season, posting 13 against Northern Iowa off the bench and 10 against Syracuse in a starting role. She scored 11 points, tying Heidi Bowman for the team high, against Oregon State.

In her fourth game with double figures in scoring, Zawodny became the first MU player last season to record a double-double, with 10 points and 11 rebounds. She followed that performance up with a then career high 14 points against Michigan and missed her second double-double by one rebound. Zawodny logged a game-high 11 rebounds against BYU, with six coming off the offensive glass.

Zawodny logged a near double-double at the half against DePaul, with 12 points and seven rebounds, finishing that game with career highs in points (16) and rebounds (12). She tallied her third double-double of the year, grabbing a career high 16 rebounds adding 15 points against Colorado State. She tallied 12 points in victories over Memphis and Cincinnati. She followed that up with a 22-point outing against Louisville to establish yet another career high. She combined that performance with 20 points and 15 rebounds, both team bests, against DePaul.

Zawodny made two game winning free throws with 28 seconds left at Charlotte as part of a 13-point effort. She hit 17 points against Tulane for her third highest output of the year at that time. Zawodny scored a team-high 19 points in an overtime loss to Louisville and a team-high 12 in a win over Saint Louis. She was third in conference USA with eight double doubles. Her improving play over the course of the year earned her a spot on the All-C-USA third team.

1999-2000: Zawodny came into her own as the top post player off the bench. She set career-highs in minutes played, field goals, free throws, rebounds, blocks, steals and points and was one of the bright spots in Marquette's first loss of the season at Drake, tallying six points, five rebounds and an assist. She set a career-high with two blocks at Wis.-Milwaukee. She scored seven points and had five rebounds against her hometown team, Dayton. Zawodny filled in for foul-plagued Abbie Willenborg against Arkansas State and aided a Marquette comeback with career-highs of 13 points and nine rebounds.

Zawodny had four points and seven rebounds in first career start at Saint Louis, starting a strong three-game stretch from Jan. 30-Feb. 5 which included nine-point games against Houston and Southern Miss. That span culminated in her 12-point, eight-rebound, two-assist performance against All-American center Janell Burse and nationally-ranked Tulane. In the NCAA game against Western Kentucky, she scored two points with eight boards and an assist.

1998-99: Zawodny had baptism by fire, going up against All-C-USA performers Abbie Willenborg and Lisa Oldenburg everyday in practice. A late-season surge showed her new-found aggressive side. She averaged 2.4 points and 2.2 rebounds in just over 10 minutes per game while shooting .609 from the field.

Zawodny had two points, a rebound and a block against Loyola (Nov. 13) in collegiate debut. She led MU's second-half comeback at Wisconsin, filling in for a foul-plagued Willenborg with career-high eight points, six rebounds and two steals. She scored seven points and three rebounds at Louisville and had career-highs of eight points, eight rebounds and three assists against Saint Louis. Zawodny had one assist in five minutes in her NCAA Tournament debut against Kansas.

High School (Chaminade-Julienne/Beavercreek): Zawodny was a member of 1998 National AAU Champion Dayton Lady Hoopsters. She teamed with National High School Player of the Year Tamika Williams for C-J during her senior year after transferring from Beavercreek. She helped the Eagles earn state runners-up honors. C-J also concluded the season as district and regional champions. She averaged 14.8 points, 8.5 rebounds, two assists, one steal and one blocked shot per game as a senior. Zawodny was named Dayton Daily News All-Area First Team and Southwest District Third Team. She earned the Ohio State Award of Merit, Presidential Academic Award, NCAA Student-Athlete Award and was a C-J Scholar Athlete Award winner in 1998.

At Beavercreek, she helped her team earn Western Ohio League and district championships in 1996 and 1997. Beavercreek also advanced to the state Final Four in 1996. An All-WOL Third Team, Zawodny was also named Southwest District Special Mention and Beavercreek MVP as a junior. She helped the Beavercreek volleyball squad to a 1996 WOL championship as well.

Personal: Born July 18, 1980, Zawodny is the daughter of Charlotte and Tom Zawodny. She has two older brothers and a younger sister. She appeared in MTV's True Life: She's a Player in 1998. She is a physical therapy major.
