MILWAUKEE--Multiple streaks remain intact as the Marquette University women's basketball team pushed out to an early lead that they did not relinquish in a 93-81 win over DePaul on Thursday evening at the Al McGuire Center.

MU won its 13th consecutive game at the Al, remained unbeaten in BIG EAST play; the 3-0 start its best since the 2006-07 season, and won its fourth straight game over DePaul to highlight the night.

Allazia Blockton led the way for the Golden Eagles (9-5, 3-0) with 25 points and 12 rebounds, for her fourth double-double of the season, and her eighth game of the season as Marquette's point leader. All five of the Golden Eagles starters ended in double-digits. Danielle King, Natisha Hiedeman and Amani Wilborn each posted 17 points, while Erika Davenport added 11.

"I am really proud of our team's preparation level right now," head coach Carolyn Kieger said. "We've really grown up since Christmas break and have had fantastic practices, which is really showing up on the court. Since the loss at Notre Dame I have seen a different level of focus in their eye. It feels like we are starting to understand how good we can be and when we can start to put 40 minutes together I will be very excited."

Marquette went in to halftime leading 48-34, posting its largest lead of the game at 18 points at the 5:26 mark in the second quarter. Hiedeman led all players with 16 points, while DePaul had no players in double-digit scoring at the break.

The Golden Eagles shot a stellar 54.3 percent (38-70) from the floor, outscoring the Blue Demons 58-46 in the paint and outrebounded DePaul 46-36.

The Blue Demons (10-5, 2-1) came within six points of the Golden Eagles, 48-42, after a three-point shot with 8:01 left in the third quarter, but never took a lead in the 40 minutes of play. DePaul's Mart'e Grays lead the team in points with 19, while Kelly Campbell chipped in a double-double recording 17 points and 12 rebounds.

Marquette will travel to Omaha to take on fellow unbeaten BIG EAST squad Creighton on Sunday, Jan. 7. Tip-off is set for 1 p.m. CT on FS2.
