MILWAUKEE - The Marquette University women's basketball team fell to No. 2/3 Connecticut 85-51 Saturday afternoon at the Al McGuire Center.

Marquette (8-7, 0-2 BIG EAST) was 18-of-52 shooting (34.6 percent) from the field in the contest. Senior Sarina Simmons led the Golden Eagles with 19 points, while sophomore Arlesia Morsechipped in seven points and four rebounds.

Connecticut (14-1, 2-1 BIG EAST) was led by sophomore Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis and junior Stefanie Dolson, as the pair combined to score 48 of the Huskies' 85 total points. Mosqueda-Lewis scored a game-high 24 points, while Dolson tallied 20. As a team, UConn shot 50.7 percent (35-of-59) from the floor.

After trailing 54-19 at the break, MU outscored the Huskies in the second half, 32-31, by shooting 42.3 percent (11-of-26) in the final 20 minutes of action.

Marquette is set to begin a two-game road swing on Tuesday, Jan. 15, when it travels to take on Seton Hall at 6 p.m. CT.
