The five-point margin of victory is the eighth time this season the Golden Eagles have had a game decided by five or less points. Marquette is 3-5 in those contests.

Marquette led at half for the ninth time this season, 32-28, but were unable to come away victorious to stand 7-2 on the season in those games. The four-point lead at half-time marked the first time this season an opponent has held the advantage going into the intermission at the WVU Coliseum.
