MILWAUKEE – The Marquette University women’s basketball team dropped its fourth consecutive game, 64-52, to Cincinnati Wednesday Night at the Al McGuire Center.

Marquette (12-10, 3-6 BIG EAST) was led by 12 points and 13 rebounds by sophomore forward Katherine Plouffe for her eighth double-double of the season. The Golden Eagles had trouble controlling the ball on the offensive end, committing 18 turnovers, which led to 19 UC points.

Cincinnati (11-11, 2-7 BIG EAST) was led by Dayeesha Hollins’ game-high 22 points and four assists. Bjonee Reaves was 7-for-13 from the floor, tallying 18 points. Senior guard Chanel Chisholm chipped in nine to help the Bearcats capture their second win in conference play.

Jeanise Randolph’s put-back at the 11:29 mark of the first half gave UC an 11-10 lead and the Bearcats never looked back. As a team, Cincinnati shot 40.7 percent from the field and 43.8 percent (7-16) from the three-point line.

Marquette couldn’t find its stroke from behind the arc, shooting just 8.3 percent (1-12) in the contest.

Freshman Arlesia Morse tallied double figures with 12 points, while Apiew Ojulu added eight points and six rebounds.

Marquette returns to action on Saturday, Feb. 4 at 7 p.m. as it takes on Pittsburgh at the Al McGuire Center. Fans are encouraged to PINK OUT “The Al” in support of breast cancer awareness and Marquette’s Play 4 Kay initiative.
