MILWAUKEE -- Freshman Isabelle Spingola poured in a career-high 21 points to lead six Golden Eagles in double figures as the Marquette women's basketball team rolled past Seton Hall, 103-60, on Friday morning.
Sophomore Allazia Blockton tallied 16 points with eight rebounds and eight assists, followed by classmate Danielle King with 15 points, five rebounds and five assists. Amani Wilborn added in 13 points and eight assists with Erika Davenport tallying 11 points and eight rebounds. Natisha Hiedeman poured in 10 points, seven rebounds and six assists for the Golden Eagles (17-6, 8-4 BIG EAST) as Spingola went 5-for-6 to lead MU from three-point range.
Every available player saw the floor and Marquette led by as many as 48 points, surpassing 100 for the third time this season, all while shooting 60.3 percent (41-for-68) from the floor and 47.8 percent (11-for-23) from long distance in the strong offensive effort. MU is the only BIG EAST team to shoot over 60 percent this season and the Golden Eagles have now done it twice.
Defensively, Marquette held Seton Hall to just nine points in the first quarter and kept the Pirates to shooting 40.3 percent from field goal range. Latecia Smith and Claire Lundberg chipped in 12 points apiece to lead Seton Hall (11-12, 4-8 BIG EAST).
Marquette returns to action on Sunday, Feb. 5 as St. John's comes to the Al McGuire Center for a 1 p.m. Central time conference matchup.
