OMAHA, Neb.--The Marquette University women's basketball narrowly fell at Creighton on Friday evening, 83-81, after the game had seven ties and 11 changes and came down to a back-and-fourth final quarter.

Natisha Hiedeman stole an inbound pass from Creighton with three seconds left to play in the game, and put up a shot for a final attempt to send the game into overtime, but the shot bounced out and time expired as Creighton grabbed a final rebound.

Erika Davenport led four Golden Eagles (13-14, 8-8) in double digits with a career-high-tying 19 points on 8-of-11 shooting, while Amani Wilborn recorded 16 points, Danielle King tallied 15 points and Allazia Blockton totaled 12 points. Blockton was just two assists shy of a double-double as she grabbed 11 boards and dished eight assists, which was her 11th double-double of the season.

Hiedeman finished the night with nine points, all coming from beyond-the-arc.

Marquette shot 41.9 percent (31-74) in the game with 38 points in the paint and 14 points off of 15 miscues from the Bluejays.

The Golden Eagles trailed 38-31 at the half as Davenport lead the squad with 12 points, while Blockton had already grabbed seven boards. MU shot a combined 32.4 percent (12-37) from the field, while the Bluejays hit 48.6 percent (17-35) of their shots, but the Golden Eagles owned a 25-19 advantage on the glass at the break.

Creighton led for the majority of the half as MU's last lead of the game came from a three-point shot from Natisha Hiedeman for a 9-7 lead at the 5:59 mark of the first quarter and though the Golden Eagles pulled within one point after a jumper from Danielle King at the 5:40 mark of the second quarter Creighton held a seven point lead at the break.
