Marquette Stumbles, 82-60 at Creighton

OMAHA, Neb. - The Marquette women's basketball team (8-20, 4-13) fell on the road on Sunday in an 82-60 decision to Creighton (16-11, 9-7) at D.J. Sokol Arena.
Senior Cristina Bigica led three Marquette players in double figures with 12 points, while classmate Arlesia Morse and freshman Kenisha Bell each added 11 points. Morse recorded her second double-double of the season and just the third in her career grabbing 11 rebounds in the game.
The Golden Eagles trailed Creighton at the half, 47-30 and could not creep back into the game, coming as close as just 16 points, 60-44 at the 11:18 mark, and hitting just eight field goals in the second frame. MU finished the day shooting a combined 19-60 overall (31.7 percent), including six shots from beyond the arc.
The Bluejays also had three players in double figures led by Marissa Janning and Alexis Akin-Otiko with 17 points each. Brianna Rollerson notched a double-double with 12 points and a career-best 15 boards.
Hot three-point shooting from Creighton helped boost the Bluejays to a 47-30 advantage at halftime as they drained 9-21. MU shot 35.5 percent (11-31) from the field in the first frame and converted on 50 percent (5-10) of its attempts from beyond the arc.
Marquette will conclude the regular season on Sunday, March 1 at DePaul. The game will air live on CBSSports Network at 3:30 p.m. CT.
