MILWAUKEE - The Marquette University women's basketball team topped Villanova, 62-53, to conclude the regular season on Sunday afternoon at the Al McGuire Center.

Sun Prairie, Wis., native McKayla Yentz posted a career-high 13 rebound performance, and was honored with a  Senior Day ceremony following the game. Amani Wilborn also cashed in on the glass, hauling in 10 boards of her own. The trio of Yentz, Wilborn and Danielle King combined for 33 of MU's total 44 rebounds.

King paced the Golden Eagles' offensive attack on the afternoon, as the sophomore posted her first career double-double behind 13 points and 10 rebounds. Allazia Blockton led four double-digit scorers, tallying 16 points, while Erika Davenport and Natisha Hiedeman poured in 12 and 10 points, respectively. 

Marquette's strong defensive effort began in the first half as the team grabbed 25 rebounds, spearheaded by Yentz with seven boards. In the third quarter, Villanova fought back to diminish what was a 12 point Marquette advantage to just three early in the frame.

In the fourth quarter, the Golden Eagles held the Wildcats to shooting just 22.2 percent (4-18) from the floor despite Alex Louin and Jannah Tucker netting 17 points apiece to lead Villanova . Marquette finished the day shooting 40.6 percent (26-64) from the field.

The Golden Eagles return to action in the BIG EAST Tournament as a No. 3 seed to take on No. 6-seeded Georgetown on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. Central time at the Al.
