HARTFORD, Conn. -
Head Coach Terri Mitchell
"We are extremely disappointed with the loss. I thought our team played really hard. We want to wish Rutgers and Connecticut the best in the championship game tomorrow and in the NCAA tournament. It was a very physical game and we had opportunities, but we just didn't knock down some shots.
About being among the nation's elite
"We don't talk about it, we just try to get better all the time. Last year we came to the BIG EAST Tournament and bowed out in the first round, this year we got a bye and advanced to the semis. That is a step for us. With every loss or win, we know we can get better."
Sophomore Guard Krystal Ellis
What did Rutgers's press do to your offense?
"It made us hurry at times and, also, at times it made us slow down. We tried to walk the ball up the court but that didn't help us at all either."
You got off to a really strong start, what changed in the second half?
"I think they looked at me more after I scored 14 points in the first half, so I tried to pass it more. It seemed like everyone was collapsing on me, so I think that was a big part."
