Marquette's 2014 Foreign Tour Comes to an End

ROME, Italy-- A whirlwind 10-day foreign tour is about to come to a close as the Marquette women's basketball team played its final game in Europe on Tuesday. The Golden Eagles faced the Netherlands national team for the third time in just five days and was led by freshman Kenisha Bell who poured in 12 points and nine rebounds in the 77-56 loss.

Seniors Arlesia Morse and Chelsie Butler each tallied eight points in the game, while Butler grabbed seven boards. As a squad, MU combined for 45 rebounds, holding the Netherlands to 39. The Golden Eagles outrebound the Netherlands in each of the three contests.

Marquette arrived in Rome on Sunday for the final leg of the journey. On Monday the squad had the opportunity to take a guided tour through the Vatican, entered the Sistine Chapel and finished the tour in St. Peter's Basilica. In the morning the Golden Eagles had the chance to walk through many of Rome's markets and churches.

Prior to the game Tuesday, MU took a guided tour through Ancient Rome, including the legendary Colosseum and Forum.

The Golden Eagles will depart Rome early on Wednesday morning and are due to arrive back in the United States in the late afternoon, Central time.
