Marquette Downs Pacific, 89-75

STOCKTON, Calif. – Natisha Hiedeman notched her first career double-double as the Marquette women’s basketball team rebounded after last night’s loss, and got back to winning ways with an 89-75 decision over Pacific in the final game of the Tigers’ Turkey Tip-Off, hosted by Pacific.
Hiedeman poured in 13 points with a career-high 11 rebounds, while sophomore Allazia Blockton again paved the way for the Golden Eagles (5-1) with 20 points, her third straight game scoring 20-or-more points. Classmate Erika Davenport tallied another double-double with 14 points and grabbed 10 boards and Danielle King added 12 points and dished a career-best eight assists to her teammates.
Every available player saw time for Marquette on Saturday, including redshirt junior Chelsey Gibson who checked in late in the fourth quarter and recorded five points, shooting 2-for-4 in just six minutes of action.
Marquette shot 55.7 percent (34-61) from the floor and held Pacific (2-4) to just 33.3 percent (24-72), while outscoring the Tigers in the paint, 50-28. The Golden Eagles won the battle of the boards with 45 rebounds, as Pacific took down 36.
Chelsea Lidy led the Tigers with 20 points as three other players reached double digits.
Marquette will return home and welcome Western Illinois to the Al McGuire Center on Friday, Dec. 2 at 7 p.m. Central time. The game will stream live on GoMarquette.com.
