Villanova shot 28-for-64 (43.8%) from the field, but connected on 14-for-32 from long range, led by nine from Adriana Hahn, who finished with a game high and career-best 31 points.

It was a difference of two halves as Marquette turned a sluggish first half into an offensive explosion in the third quarter. MU converted free throws in the final minutes of the game to help hold off the Wildcats, who had cut the lead to just three points, 70-67, with 2:04 left in the game after Hahn sank a trey. Davenport responded with two quick baskets and Wilborn went 3-for-4 from the charity stripe to close out the game.

MU shot 44.4 percent (12-27) in the first half with 10 points from Blockton, but were able to take 18 points in the paint, holding Villanova to just four points down low. The Wildcats were on fire from beyond-the-arc making 7-of-15 from long range, including six from Hahn.

Marquette will travel to Georgetown on Friday, Dec. 30 to face the Hoyas. Tip-off is slated for 1 p.m. Central time and will air live on the BIG EAST Digital Network and locally on Fox Sports Wisconsin.
