Marquette Heads to Georgetown Friday

The Marquette women's basketball team (4-8, 0-1) hits the road for a two-game trip at Georgetown on Jan. 2 before taking on Villanova on Sunday, Jan. 4.

Friday's game will be broadcast live on FOX Sports 1 at 6:30 p.m. CT with Lisa Byington (pbp) and LaChina Robinson (analyst) on the call. It marks MU's first national broadcast this season.

Marquette opened its 10th season of BIG EAST action on Tuesday falling to Xavier, 74-71. Kenisha Bell shined once again for the Golden Eagles in the loss. The freshman led with 19 points with three assists and four steals. Senior Arlesia Morse notched 18 points, grabbed seven rebounds and also added four steals.

Golden Eagles Blow Past the Hoyas in a 77-54 Victory
The Marquette University women's basketball team began its three game home stand with a 77-54 victory over Georgetown on Saturday evening at the Al McGuire Center.

Bell averages 15.1 points per game and ranks ninth in the league, while Morse is 12th with 14.0 points per night.

Georgetown (2-11, 0-1) is also led by a freshmen in scoring as newcomer Dorothy Adomako is averaging 11.1 points per game and ranks 20th overall. She is fifth in rebounding grabbing 7.2 boards.

MU has won three straight against the Hoyas after sweeping both games in the season series a year ago.

Georgetown dropped its BIG EAST opener, 76-61 at Creighton on Tuesday.

Marquette will immediately travel to Villanova following the game on Friday. Tip-off against the Wildcats is set for Noon CT at The Pavilion.
