Marquette women's basketball duo Lauren Van Kleunen and Allazia Blockton earn BIG EAST weekly honors for helping the Golden Eagles open league play 2-0 last week. Van Kleunen picks up her second BIG EAST Freshman of the Week award, while Blockton lands a spot on the weekly honor roll.

Van Kleunen averaged 10.0 points, 9.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists and connected on 56.3 percent of her shots en route to top rookie honors. Against St. John's the Mason, Ohio native recorded her first collegiate double-double with 12 points and 11 boards.

Blockton averaged 24.0 points, 5.0 rebounds and dished 2.5 assists in MU's wins over St. John's and Seton Hall. The Milwaukee, Wis. local totaled 29 points with 69.6 percent shooting from the field against Seton Hall.

Marquette welcomes DePaul on Thursday. Jan. 4 at 7 p.m. CT. The game will air live on FS Wisconsin.
