The Golden Eagles will look for their first BIG EAST victory of the season after falling to Georgetown, 83-76 on Friday night.

Arlesia Morse led MU in the loss with a game-high 25 points, including five three's, and grabbed eight rebounds. She has recorded double digits in 12 of 13 games played this season and is averaging 14.8 points per game, which ranks 10th in the BIG EAST

No. 5 Marquette Advances Over No. 4 Villanova, 56-53
Redshirt freshman Ashley Santos sank two free throws with six seconds left in regulation, to lift No. 5 seed Marquette over No. 4 Villanova, 56-53 in the quarterfinals of the 2014 BIG EAST Tournament, Sunday evening at Allstate Arena.

Kenisha Bell tallied 18 points at Georgetown and leads Marquette with 15.3 points per game, which is ninth in the league.

Villanova knocked off No. 24 DePaul, 79-76 in overtime on Friday night.

The Wildcats are led by Emily Leer who averages 14.0 points per game in just eight games played this season. Caroline Coyer is tallying 12.1 points per game, which is 16th in the league.

Villanova averages 8.7 three-point shots per game and leads the league in assist-to-turnover ratio at 1.4.

MU is 8-5 all-time against Villanova. The Golden Eagles and Wildcats met three times last year. Marquette lost in both regular season contests, but defeated Nova in round one of the BIG EAST Tournament, 56-53.

Following Sunday's game Marquette will return home and host DePaul, Jan. 9 at 7:00 p.m. CT before welcoming Butler on Jan. 11 at 2 p.m. CT.
