MU to Host Seton Hall Saturday Night at The Al

MILWAUKEE- The Marquette women's basketball team will play its first BIG EAST Conference home game against Seton Hall on Saturday, Jan. 7 at the Al McGuire Center. The 7 p.m. tip-off can be seen live on GoMarquette.com's multimedia platform, MUTube, with Kyle Dlabay and Armen Saryan calling the action.
Saturday is Dollar Day! All general admission tickets, hot dogs and sodas will cost just $1. The Golden Eagles will also be signing autographs following the game on the concourse of The Al.
The Golden Eagles (9-6, 0-2 BIG EAST) will look to get back on the winning track after a 70-53 setback at No. 14/12 Louisville on Tuesday. Sarina Simmons scored a game-high 17 points, while Gabi Minix chipped in 11.
Minix has proven she can do more than dish out assists in recent games as she has strung together three games of 10-or-more points. Against Vermont, Minix scored a then-career high 11 points. She topped that mark with 13 points at Toledo, and contributed in 11 points at Louisville. Minix stands fourth in the BIG EAST with 5.1 assists per game.
The Pirates (7-9, 0-2 BIG EAST) roll in to Milwaukee on a four-game skid. Seton Hall dropped its first two league games of the season to Connecticut on Dec. 9 (70-37) and most recently against Notre Dame (74-36) on Dec. 4. Jasmine Crew leads the Pirates with 19.1 points per games. She has averaged 14.5 points per game in SHU's two BIG EAST games.
Marquette is 4-2 all-time against Seton Hall, with three of its four wins coming at the Al McGuire Center. Marquette has won the last two meetings, 69-44, at the Al McGuire Center on Jan. 10, 2010 and 66-58 in South Orange, N.J., on Feb. 16, 2011.
