OMAHA--The Marquette women's basketball team is off to its best start in BIG EAST play since the 2006-07 campaign and will look to remain the league's only unbeaten squad as the Golden Eagles take on Creighton, Sunday, Jan. 7 at 1 p.m. CT.

FS2 will have the live broadcast with John Fanta and Kim Adams calling the action from DJ Sokol Arena.

Marquette is 9-5 overall and 3-0 in BIG EAST games after topping DePaul, 93-81 on Thursday evening. All five of MU's starters recorded double digits, led by Allazia Blockton with her fourth double-double of the season at 25 points and 12 boards. Blockton leads the league with 19.6 points per game, and all five of the Golden Eagles' leading scorers rank in the BIG EAST top-30 in scoring. Marquette is averaging 84.4 points per contest, which is second in the conference.

Marquette Upsets No. 2 Seed Creighton, 72-65
With the victory, No. 3 seed Marquette clinches a spot in the conference title game for the first time since joining the BIG EAST prior to the 2005-06 campaign. The triumph over CU also marks the fifth time this season that head coach Carolyn Kieger's squad has knocked-off a top-25 ranked team.

Creighton was handed its first loss of the season, a 72-65 overtime setback at St. John's on Friday and enters the game with a 9-5, 3-1 league mark. Audrey Faber paces the Bluejays with 17.7 points per game, ranking fifth in the league.

The matchup at Creighton will feature four of the top eight scorers in the BIG EAST with Blockton, Faber, Jaylyn Agnew (15.9 ppg) and Natisha Hiedeman (15.0 ppg).

Following Sunday's game, the Golden Eagles will travel to Providence to face the Friars on Wednesday, Jan. 11 at 6 p.m. CT on the BIG EAST Digital Network.
