The Marquette women's basketball team is set to close out its two-game east coast trip on Tuesday, Jan. 10 when the squad faces Seton Hall at Walsh Gymnasium in South Orange, N.J. at 6 p.m. Central time.
The game will air live on the BIG EAST Digital Network with Jon Schaeffer and Dave Popkin calling the action along with John Fanta as a sideline reporter.
The Golden Eagles (12-4, 3-2) are looking to bounce back following a loss at St. John's on Sunday in a 1-2 week for the squad. Against the Red Storm sophomore Allazia Blockton led three players in double digits with 20 points and eight rebounds, while classmates Natisha Hiedeman and Danielle King recorded 17 and 10 points, respectively. Blockton is back in front as the BIG EAST's top scorer with 17.3 points per game, while Hiedeman (14th) and Erika Davenport (16th) are also in the league's top-20.
Seton Hall dropped a 96-65 decision to DePaul on Sunday and currently owns an 8-7 overall record and 1-3 mark in conference play with the lone win coming in a 64-59 battle against St. John's. JaQuan Jackson leads the Pirates on the season with 16.9 points per contest and check in right behind Blockton. Also averaging double digits is Kaela Hilaire at 11.5 points each night.
Marquette owns a narrow 9-7 advantage in the all-time series against the Pirates and Tuesday will be the 17th all-time meeting. Last season each team won on its home court with Seton Hall defeating the Golden Eagles in the quarterfinals of the BIG EAST Tournament.
The Golden Eagles will return home on Friday, Jan. 13 at 7 p.m. CT live on the BIG EAST Digital Network.
