MILWAUKEE - The Marquette women's basketball team (8-6, 0-1) welcomes No. 2/3 Connecticut (13-1, 1-1) to the Al McGuire Center on Saturday afternoon for a 3 p.m. CT tip-off.

The game will be broadcast by SNY and can be viewed locally on Time Warner Sports 32. Andrew Catalon and Meg Culmo will have the call.

Marquette fell in its BIG EAST opener against Syracuse last week and will face its first ranked opponent this season in the Huskies. Junior Katherine Plouffe leads the Golden Eagles with 14.1 points per game and a team-high 7.9 rebounds per game. Against Syracuse, senior Sarina Simmons led MU with a career-high 24 points and 10 rebounds for her first double-double this season.

Connecticut rebounded from its first loss of the season to No. 3/2 Notre Dame, with a decisive 75-48 victory at Georgetown on Wednesday night. Kelly Faris led the Huskies with 15 points in the game and three other players recorded double figures. UConn is led by Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis with 16.3 points this season. Breanna Stewart is the leading rebounder pulling down 7.3 per game.

Saturday marks the eighth meeting between the two squads, but the Golden Eagles have never been on the winning end of a contest as UConn holds a 7-0 record. Last season in Milwaukee, the Huskies defeated MU 85-45 at the Al. Plouffe led Marquette with 16 points, while Mosqueda-Lewis poured in a game-high 27 points for UConn.

Following this game, the Golden Eagles will play two-in-a-row on the road beginning at Seton Hall on Tuesday, Jan. 15 at 6 p.m. CT.
