MILWAUKEE– The Marquette University women’s basketball team (12-7, 3-3 BIG EAST) will look to rebound after a loss to No. 19/17 Georgetown when it hosts Providence on Saturday, Jan. 21 at the Al McGuire Center.

The 7 p.m. tip-off can be seen live on GoMarquette.com's multimedia platform, MUTube, with Kyle Dlabay and Armen Saryan calling the action.

Saturday is youth night at The Al. $2 general admission tickets are available for all youth in eighth grade and younger. The Golden Eagles will also be signing autographs following the game on the concourse of The Al.

Katherine Plouffe, Marquette’s leading scorer who was selected to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll this week, may have struggled offensively against Georgetown, but she found other ways to contribute as she pulled down a game-high 10 rebounds. Plouffe is ranked in the top-15 in eight BIG EAST statistical categories, including fifth in rebounding with 8.1 per game.

Providence (10-9, 2-4 BIG EAST) comes to Marquette on the heels of 64-48 loss at No. 18/15 Louisville on Wednesday. The Friars, who are 0-3 on the road in BIG EAST Conference play, own two home wins over then-No. 20/18 DePaul (60-52) and West Virginia (51-48). Teya Wright leads the Friars with 12.7 points per game. She also pulls down a league-leading 9.8 boards per game.

Marquette is 4-2 all-time against Providence with all six games played as BIG EAST Conference foes. The Golden Eagles won the first three meetings, but the Friars came out on top in the next two, 51-49, in Providence and 53-44 at the Al McGuire Center. Marquette won at Providence in the two teams’ last meeting, 62-50, on Feb. 22, 2011.
