Marquette Continues Homestand Against Providence Tuesday

MILWAUKE--The Marquette women's basketball continues a two-game home stretch and welcomes Providence to the Al McGuire Center Tuesday at 7 p.m. Central time.
The Golden Eagles (12-4, 3-2) look to get back to winning form following a narrow two-point loss to St. John's on Saturday. The game will be streamed live and for free at GoMarquette.com.
Senior Katherine Plouffe remains the BIG EAST leading scorer after an 18 point, 10 rebound performance against the Red Storm, while classmate Katie Young also recorded a double double with 18 points and 11 boards. The duo also grabbed four and three steals, respectively in their seventh double doubles of the campaign.
Providence has lost six of its last seven games and is 6-11 overall and just 1-5 in league play with the lone victory a 70-61 decision against Georgetown. The Friars are led by Tori Rule who is the BIG EAST's sixth leading scorer with 16.4 points per game, while Alexis Harris ranks seventh in the league with 7.9 rebounds per contest.
Marquette holds a 5-3 advantage in all-time series, including an 81-70 victory last season in Providence. Plouffe led the squad with 20 points, while junior Arlesia Morse tallied 19.
Following this game, MU will head back on the road and travel to new-league member Creighton for a showdown that begins at 3 p.m. CT.
