MILWAUKEE--The Marquette women's basketball team returns to action and is set to travel to No. 19/18 DePaul on Saturday, Jan. 21 in its lone game for the week.

The matchup will air live on the BIG EAST Digital Network with Dave Bernhard and Trish Babcock-McGraw calling the action from McGrath-Phillips Arena.

The exciting matchup will see one team's winning streak come to an end as the Golden Eagles have won three in-a-row, while the Blue Demons have won 10 straight contests dating back to Dec. 15 and own a 9-1 record this season on their home floor, the lone loss coming in a 75-61 decision to then No. 2/1 Notre Dame.

Marquette Falls to DePaul, 98-65
Freshman Allazia Blockton scored 16 points on 7-15 shooting to break a 21-year old BIG EAST freshman scoring record, but Marquette (14-15, 9-9 BIG EAST) came up short against No. 19/21 DePaul (24-7, 16-2 BIG EAST), falling 98-65 on Saturday night at the Al McGuire Center.

Marquette owns a 15-4 record overall and 6-2 mark in BIG EAST play dropping games to Creighton and St. John's, and they sit third currently in the league standings. The game at DePaul will complete half of the BIG EAST schedule. Allazia Blockton continues to lead MU and the conference with 17.2 points per game, while Erika Davenport is just one of two BIG EAST players to average a double-double with 12.9 points and 10.1 rebounds per game, behind Butler's Tori Schickel.

DePaul is 16-4 overall and is the league-leader with a perfect 8-0 record and is paced by Brooke Schulte with 15.4 points per game, ranking fourth.

Both DePaul and Marquette run a high octane offense with the Blue Demons averaging 83.6 points per game to lead the conference, while the Golden Eagles are second at 78.2 points per game and both are league leaders in assists, so Saturday's game will be a back-and-forth contest.

Marquette will be looking to snap DePaul's five-game winning streak in the series as Saturday's game is the 66th meeting between the two programs. The Blue Demons own a 42-23 record.

Following this game, MU will travel to Providence on Friday, Jan. 27 at 6 p.m. Central time.
