Golden Eagles to Play at Rutgers Saturday Afternoon

The Marquette women's basketball team will return to the road this weekend as it heads to Piscataway, N.J. to play Rutgers Saturday, Jan. 23. Tip-off at the Louis Brown Athletic Center is set for 2 p.m. ET/1 p.m. CT. Live stats and a free video stream are available on www.scarletknights.com.
Following their game against the Scarlet Knights, the Golden Eagles will return home to host No. 19/18 Georgetown at the Al McGuire Center Wednesday, Jan. 27, at 7 p.m.
The Golden Eagles (12-6, 3-2 BIG EAST), who have had the week off, are coming off 71-54 win at Villanova last Saturday. Marquette had four players in double figures for the fourth time this season led by junior Angel Robinson with 16. The Golden Eagles' 71-points marked the fourth time this season they have scored 70-or-more points. Seventy points has become a key stat for Marquette in recent years as it has posted a 24-2 league mark since joining the BIG EAST in 2005 when reaching the 70-point mark.
Rutgers, who was selected to finish sixth in the BIG EAST, enters the game with Marquette 11-7 overall and 3-1 in BIG EAST play. Brittany Ray leads the Scarlet Knights in scoring with 16.7 points per game.
Marquette is winless in its five previous meetings with the Scarlet Knights. Saturday's game will mark the second straight season, the Golden Eagles have traveled to play at the RAC. The two teams have met four times in the regular season and once in the 2007 BIG EAST Tournament Semifinals.
Marquette is 3-3 on the road this season, 1-1 in BIG EAST road action.
