Marquette Hosts No. 15/13 Louisville on Tuesday

MILWAUKEE - The Marquette women's basketball returns home on Tuesday night to host No. 15/13 Louisville at the Al McGuire Center. Tip-off is set for 8:05 p.m. CT and will be broadcast live on CBS Sports Network. James Bates and Tammy Blackburn will have the call.
The Golden Eagles went 2-0 last week on the road and own a 10-7 overall mark with a 2-2 conference record. Junior Katherine Plouffe leads the squad with 13.1 points per game and 7.6 rebounds each contest. She ranks seventh in the BIG EAST in rebounding. Plouffe was named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll for the second time this season as she averaged 13.0 points per game and 9.5 rebounds per game.
Louisville is 15-4 overall and 3-2 in conference action. The Cardinals easily defeated Cincinnati on Friday 72-33. They are led by Soni Schimmel with 12.7 points per game. Sara Hammond is Louisville's leading rebounder with 6.2 per game. The Cardinals have three players averaging double figures.
This will be the 24th all-time meeting between the two squads, with Louisville owning a 14-9 record. Last season, the Cardinals defeated MU, 70-53 in Louisville.
Following this game, Marquette will travel to USF to face the Bulls on Saturday, Jan. 26 at 5 p.m. CT. That game will be broadcast on the BIG EAST Network and can be seen live on Time Warner Sports 32.
