Marquette Travels to USF Saturday

MILWAUKEE - The Marquette University women's basketball team will travel to South Florida to take on the Bulls this Saturday, Jan. 26. Tip-off is slated for 5 p.m. CT and will air on the Big East Network with Bob Picozzi and LaChina Robinson on the call. It can be seen locally on Time Warner Sports 32.
Marquette (10-8, 2-3 BIG EAST) claimed a 74-65 conference road win against Pittsburgh on Jan 19, before returning home and falling to No. 15/13 Louisville, 64-63, on Jan. 22. The Golden Eagles were down by 10 late in the second half and came back and took the lead, but eventually fell behind in the closing seconds. Junior Katie Young, who hit a key 3-pointer late in the game, had 17 points on the night, as did classmate Katherine Plouffe.
USF is coming off a dominating 74-52 win on Tuesday against Seton Hall. Andrea Smith had 21 points in the Bulls first conference win, bringing its overall record to 12-5 and 1-3 in the BIG EAST. Smith and her twin sister, Andrell, lead the Bulls in scoring with 18.2 and 16.9 points per game, respectively.
This is the 21st meeting between the two schools, with Marquette leading the series 16-4. Last season, USF defeated Marquette, 61-48, at the Al McGuire Center.
Following this game, Marquette will return home and host two games, facing off against Rutgers (Jan. 30) and then DePaul (Feb. 2).
