Marquette Travels Down to DePaul Wednesday

MILWAUKEE--The Marquette University women's basketball team concludes its two-game road swing Wednesday Jan. 29 when it travels to DePaul at 7 p.m. Central time. The game will be streamed live at for a fee and will be broadcast on Lakeshore Public Television in Chicago.

The Golden Eagles (13-5) suffered a setback in their most recent action, falling on the road to Creighton 83-64. MU's loss against the Creighton Bluejays marked the first time this season that the team has dropped a contest away from home. Junior forward Apiew Ojulu led Marquette with 12 points, while teammate Arlesia Morse chipped in 11. For only the second time all season MU's Katherine Plouffe failed to reach double-digit point totals, contributing eight points and seven rebounds.

Marquette Falls to DePaul, 77-69 in BIG EAST Second Round
Four players posted double figures for Marquette, but it was not enough as the No. 10 seed Golden Eagles fell to No. 7 seed DePaul, 77-69 in the second round of the BIG EAST Championship on Saturday evening.

DePaul enters the game on a four-game winning streak and has a 15-5 overall record and is tied with Creighton at 6-2 in league action. The Blue Demons earned an 85-64 victory at Butler last Saturday. Five players poured in double digit scoring performances led by Megan Rogowski with 16 points.

Marquette and DePaul have a long playing history and Wednesday will mark the 59th game between the schools. The Blue Demons lead the all-time series with a 36-22 record after the squads split two games last season. MU won on its home court 70-66 on Feb. 2, but fell in the BIG EAST Tournament, 77-69.

Following this game, the Golden Eagles will play three straight at home beginning Saturday, Feb. 1 as they host Georgetown at 4 p.m. CT.
