Marquette Checks in at No. 23 in the Associated Press Poll

MILWAUKEE - The Marquette University women's basketball team returned to the Associated Press' Top 25 this week at No. 23. It is the first time since the end of the 2006-07 season that the Golden Eagles have been among the nation's top-25 teams. Marquette completed the 2006-07 season ranked No. 22 in the final AP Poll of the season. Marquette (17-4, 5-3 BIG EAST) has won five of its last six games including two wins over top 15 teams in then-No. 15/14 Georgetown in double overtime (75-73) on Jan. 8 and then-No. 6/7 West Virginia (69-54) on Jan. 11. With 17 wins, Marquette has already matched its win totals from the 2008-09 and 2009-10 seasons. The Golden Eagles will be back in action on Tuesday, Feb. 1 when they host Villanova at the Al McGuire Center at 7 p.m.
