Marquette Concludes Homestand on Sunday Against Georgetown

MILWAUKEEThe Marquette women's basketball team (4-17, 0-10) will conclude a four-game homestand on Sunday afternoon as it welcomes Georgetown (4-18, 2-8) to the Al McGuire Center. Tip-off is slated for 2:00 p.m. The game will air live on the BIG EAST Digital Network with Patrick Reed and Ronan O'Shea on the call.

The Golden Eagles dropped a 75-59 decision to Villanova on Friday evening, led by 15 points from senior Apiew Ojulu. Freshman Kenisha Bell chipped in 12 points, while classmate Tia Elbert dished out seven assists. MU handed out a combined 18 assists and committed just eight turnovers.

Marquette Drops an 83-76 Decision at Georgetown
The Marquette women's basketball team dropped a close game on the road to Georgetown (3-11, 1-1) on Friday night, 83-76, at McDonough Gymnasium. The Golden Eagles (4-9, 0-2) had three players record double figures, led by 25 points from senior Arlesia Morse.

Georgetown suffered a 93-52 defeat at DePaul to begin their weekend of league action. Freshman Dorothy Adomako was the Hoyas' lone double figure scorer with 20 points and 10 rebounds, collecting her seventh double-double of the season.

In the first meeting this season the Hoyas earned an 83-76 victory in Washington, D.C., which was just the second all-time victory for Georgetown as the Golden Eagles own a 9-2 record in the overall series.

MU will hit the road next weekend and travel to Xavier (Feb. 6) and Butler (Feb. 8). The game against the Bulldogs will also air on the BIG EAST Digital Network.
