Golden Eagles Close Out BIG EAST Road Trip at Syracuse Saturday Afternoon

MILWAUKEE - The Marquette women's basketball team closes out a two-game road trip Saturday at Syracuse. Tip-off at the Carrier Dome is set for 1 p.m. ET/Noon CT. The Golden Eagles (13-8, 4-4 BIG EAST) are looking to rebound following a 73-63 loss at DePaul last Sunday. Tatiyiana McMorris sparked Marquette with a career-best 17 points on 6-of-14 shooting from the field including five long-range buckets. In the last seven games McMorris has been one of Marquette's most accurate shooters, knocking down 42.6 percent from the floor (20-of-47) including 48.3 percent (14-of-29) from three-point land. Marquette stands tied for the sixth spot in the BIG EAST with Rutgers and USF with a 4-4 record. The Golden Eagles will host USF Tuesday, Feb. 8, at 8 p.m. Syracuse is 17-5 overall, 4-5 in BIG EAST play to stand in a three-way tie for ninth place with DePaul and Providence. Nicole Michael leads the Orange with 14.9 points per game, including 14.4 ppg in conference play. Syracuse has two other players averaging double figure points in Kayla Alexander (11.6) and Erica Morrow (11.0). The Golden Eagles are 4-4 all-time against the Orange in a series that dates back to the 1992-93 season. The Golden Eagles are 2-2 against Syracuse as members of the BIG EAST Conference with SU claiming the last two victories.
