Marquette Hosts Seton Hall on Wednesday

MILWAUKEE--The Marquette University women's basketball team (14-6, 5-4 BIG EAST) continues a three game homestand on Wednesday, Feb. 5 as when it hosts Seton Hall at 7 p.m. Central time. The matchup between the squads was supposed to be played on Jan. 8, but due to weather and travel issues, was rescheduled for Wednesday.

The Golden Eagles most recent action on the Al McGuire was a 77-54 victory against Georgetown. Katherine Plouffe tallied 18 points and became Marquette's 10th all-time leading scorer with 1,348 points. She currently leads the conference in scoring with 18.3 points per game. Junior guard Arlesia Morse led the team with 21 points and was selected to the BIG EAST honor roll for the week.

Morse Helps Marquette to 56-53 win at Seton Hall
Sophomore Arlesia Morse scored 13 points, including the final five points of regulation, as the Marquette University women's basketball team held on to defeat Seton Hall, 56-53, on Tuesday evening at Walsh Gymnasium.

Seton Hall (13-7, 4-5 BIG EAST) enters the competition with a two game losing streak. Their most recent loss was against St. John's where the Red Storm outlasted the Pirates 69-48. Seton Hall was without Bra'Shey Ali who had recorded five double-doubles in a row.

Last year, MU defeated the Pirates 56-53 in South Orange. Plouffe, Morse and sophomore Brooklyn Pumroy all scored in double figures. MU leads the all-time series 6-2.

Following this game, Marquette will host Butler on Saturday, Feb. 8 at 4 p.m. CT. Saturday is the Golden Eagles' annual Play4Kay pink game. Prior to the game there will be a health fair and MU will be collecting donations to support breast cancer research.

Wednesday's game will be streamed live for free at GoMarquette.com with Kent Sommerfeld and Kyle Dlaby on the call.
