Allazia Blockton Makes BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

MILWAUKEE-- Allazia Blockton has been named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll after averaging 17.0 points, 5.3 rebounds and 4.7 assists per game over a three-game week for the Golden Eagles.

She surpassed the 20-point mark against both Providence and Creighton and cracked Marquette's top-10 all-time in scoring, passing Katherine Plouffe. Blockton shot an efficient 45.7 percent on the week, including 8-13 against the Friars.

The Preseason BIG EAST Player of the Year leads the conference in scoring with 18.9 points per game and has already earned weekly conference awards six times this season. She is also a midseason candidate for the Ann Meyers Drysdale Award given to the best shooting guard in the country.

Blockton and the Golden Eagles will hit the road for a two-game swing at Xavier and Butler at 7 p.m. Central time Feb. 9 and 12 p.m. CT Feb. 11, respectively.
